Vasiliy Virastyuk was born on April 22, 1974 in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. At the age of 10 years, the future champion was already engaged in throwing the nucleus and athletics.
In 1992, the young Vasiliy Virastyuk graduated from College of Physical Education in his native city, and then went to serve in the army for 2 years. When he returned, he started to exercise regularly and work as a coach in athletics. Already in 1995 Vasiliy Virastyuk became the master of sports, and in 1998 – world-class athlete.
Since 2000, he spoke at the “Herculean-around” tournaments, which were broadcast on national television.
In 2003, Vasiliy set a world record, extending five trams on the 10 meters and 10 held together by machines at 20 meters.
In 2004 he was recognized as the strongest man in the world. And in 2007 he became the world champion on power all-round.
In addition, in 1 minute he raised and set on a platform 130 cm 4 ice cubes, each of which weighed 1.5 quintals. And this is only a small part of his impressive success.
Today Vasiliy Virastyuk – Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, the owner of the title “The strongest man in Ukraine” (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005), the most powerful man in the world (2004), the face of Ukrainian strongman.
Vasiliy has an older brother Roman Virastyuk. He is titled athlete in the shot put and a member of the Olympic team of Ukraine.
